httpS://www.Optoutprescreen.com lets you opt out of pre-approved credit cards
and the risk of credit card fraud. (Don't forget the "S" in https)

Identity theft and credit card fraud are two of the worst threats facing
consumers. The news is full of identity theft stories in which the victim's
credit rating is destroyed. Who doesn't worry about their credit cards being
stolen from their mailbox? What's worse, it might be a credit card you didn't
even apply for! Those credit card pre-approvals from banks and other lending
institutions pose a hidden danger. What if you could opt out of these pre-
screened credit card offers? Now you can at Optoutprescreen.com

Tired of all that junk mail? Worried about identify theft? Well, check out
https://www.optoutprescreen.com and opt-out for 5 years or for life.

As always, before I do anything like this, I check them out with other sources
such as Fraud Guides among several others. It appears they are legitimate but,
please do your own research. I submitted my opt-out request for life and I
can't wait for the credit card offers to stop and for stopping companies in
their tracks from checking my credit report without my permission.

TRIBAL PAGES have done some re-formatting of the family website.
Unfortunately, if someone outside the family stumbles across our website, they
will be able to see the Home Page which is not acceptable to me. They cannot
click on names for individual information unless they know the Visitor
Password which only family knows.

Unfortunately, again, on the Home Page there were a few links and PASSWORDS.
I had to delete them from the home page and place them under my name, BARBARA
ANN SCRANTON-LOUGH.

If you are looking for an account number or password for some of your own
researching, check under my name for it.

Thanks.

MYSPACE

Did you know there are many family members with MySpace accounts? It's not
just for kids anymore. Which may explain why the "kids" are dropping it. :-)

Because of the new formatting by Tribal Pages, you'll need to search their
names in our website to get the address for their online MySpace.

Here is a list of some family members who have a MySpace. If there are others
out there, let me know. To find someone on MySpace, all you need to do is do
a Search on their e-mail address or their names. Have fun!

Revised 11/11/2006
WHAT'S NEW?

Adoption papers added to ELEANORA ANN PAUGH regarding her children. The
check cleared but the request is still pending.

Adoption papers added to BARBARA ANN PAUGH-JARRETT who is the infamously
missing "other" Barbara. Jarrett was born in 1963. See her name for actual
adoption documents.

Original adoption papers were ordered (9/17/06) as it relates to BARBARA
ANN PAUGH-SCRANTON ($12 each).

11/12/2006 - Original social security applications received for ELEANORA
ANN PAUGH. Naturally, the in information is different from her death
certificate. Go check it out under SEBRA-PAUGH, ELEANORA ANN.

11/12/2006 - Original social security application was denied for BARBARA
ANN PAUGH (me!) because they said I was still alive. I will appeal their
decision and strongly remind them who is requesting the original form. To be
continued.

Photographs of grave markers were added for ROBERT CHRISTOPHER SCRANTON,
HAROLD GEORGE SCRANTON SR., CAROL JEAN BELL MORRIS, BOYD MORRIS SR, HARRY
SANZONE AND ANTOINETTE SANZONE. More photographs have been requested via
FIND A GRAVE but have not come in yet. Go to PHOTOS and search their
names.

I am currently gathering all of the deceased family members and adding them
to www.findagrave.com with the hopes of getting photographs of the actual
markers for our records.

CYNDI'S LIST OF GENEALOGY SITES ON THE INTERNET
http://www.cyndislist.com/

A large categorized and cross-referenced directory of sites useful for
genealogical research, with hundreds of thousands of links.

Hailed by researchers throughout the world, Cyndi's List is the gateway to
Internet genealogy, providing the researcher with more than 70,000 links to
every conceivable genealogical resource on the Internet.

For the genealogist, Cyndi's List is nothing short of a phenomenon. It
originated just a few years ago with the modest aim of providing the Tacoma-
Pierce County Genealogical Society with five or six pages of genealogy web
site addresses. From there, Cyndi's List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet,
with 1,025 links listed on one page, grew to more than 70,000 categorized and
cross-referenced links in more than 140 categories listed on more than 430
individual web pages. The site now has about 80,000 visitors each day, with
more than 18 million people having stepped through the front door of the site
to date.

MY TREE
http://www.mytree.com/
(See BARBARA ANN SCRANTON-LOUGH for account number and password)

We find that there are many thousands of genealogy sites on the Internet, but
researchers are constantly looking for a single site that has the ability to
provide enough data to be meaningful. This site has pedigree linked resources
of over 164+ million names with access to over one billion names through other
databases. The ability to manage this massive archive is one of our unique
capabilities. We have been in the business of managing these large
genealogical archives for over ten years.

ORIGINAL SOCIAL SECURITY APPLICATION
http://www.genealogy.com/genealogy/00000676.html

With the Social Security Death Index, you can get information regarding an
individual's birth date, death date, social security number, state/county code
of residence, last residence zip code, and the zip code where the death
benefit lump sum payment was sent.

In addition, with a name, the social security number that you get from the
Social Security Death Index, and $27, you can obtain a copy of the
individual's original application for a Social Security card. This often
contains much information of genealogical interest. Write to:

Social Security Administration
Office of Central Records Operations
FOIA Workgroup
P.O. Box 17772
300 N. Greene Street
Baltimore, Maryland 21290

You can find out right now if your ancestors are listed in the Social
Security Death Index without even leaving your computer! This free search can
help you by telling you if your ancestor is actually listed in the Social
Security Death Index. Once you find a listing for your ancestor, you can
instantly create a letter requesting a copy of their application for a Social
Security card (Form SS5) by clicking "Write It"

You also can access the Social Security Death Index in several other places.
For example, many larger libraries have the Social Security Death Index on CD-
ROM. You can also search it here at Genealogy.com. In addition, you can use
the index through the FamilySearch computer. This a computer system at the
Family History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The
Social Security Death Index is also available at the National Archives and
some of the regional branches of the National Archives. Contact your local
branch of the National Archives to find out whether or not they have the
Social Security Death Index before you make a special trip. For addresses and
phone numbers of the National Archives and each of the regional branches, see
the topic National Archives. You can also purchase the Social Security Death

MARYLAND ADOPTION RECORDS
http://www.mdarchives.state.md.us/

Information on Maryland adoption records is available at the Maryland State
Archives. Please note that there are laws limiting access to these records.
These laws are intended to safeguard the privacy and rights of all persons
involved. For laws related to access to adoption records, please see the
Annotated Code of Maryland, Family Law Article, Title 5, Subtitles 4B and 4C.

The Department of Human Resources now helps co-ordinate searches for some
adoptive parents, adoptive children, and birth families. Information about
this service is best obtained by calling 1-800-39-ADOPT.

Maryland has also created the Mutual Consent Voluntary Adoption Registry which
enrolls adoptees and their birth families who wish to find each other. Please
contact the Maryland Mutual Consent Voluntary Adoption Registry, 301 West
Saratoga Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201 [telephone (410) 333-0237] for
information.

When a person is adopted in Maryland his/her original birth certificate and
index entry are removed from the files of the Division of Vital Records. The
certificate is filed with the adoption file and becomes part of a closed
record. A new birth certificate is created showing the adoptive parents as the
parents of the child.

All adoption files after May 31, 1947 are sealed and can be opened only with a
court order or by a State authorized intermediary specifically empowered to
examine such records. The Department of Human Resources appoints and co-
ordinates these intermediaries (please call 1-800-39-ADOPT) for more
information.

Most adoption files before June 1, 1947 are open and available to anyone.
Please contact the circuit court which granted the adoption and request the
file or case number. The circuit court will determine if they can provide a
copy or refer you to us. Please note, however, that some adoption files before
June 1, 1947 were sealed at the request of the persons involved. A State
appointed intermediary may examine these files.

Please note that there is no state-wide index to adoption records so the
Archives is unable to determine the circuit court for you.

Questions regarding Archives' collections and services should be directed to
the Reference Services Department at: ref@mdsa.net
